METHOD
Why It Works

Baking on a hot sheet pan crisps the crust while the cheese melts. A light creamy base seasoned with Cajun spice ties the toppings together.

Quick Fixes

Crust soggy: pre-bake the flatbread a few minutes before topping.

Toppings sliding: don't overload; a thin layer bakes best.

Ingredients

Protein

8 oz andouille or smoked sausage, sliced thin

Sauce

1 tablespoon olive oil
⅓ cup cream cheese, softened

Vegetables

1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
½ red onion, thinly sliced

Pasta & Grains

2 large flatbreads or naan

Seasoning

1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning

Topping

1½ cups shredded mozzarella
2 tablespoons sliced green onions

How to Make It

1

Heat the oven to 425°F and place the flatbreads on a sheet pan.

2

Heat olive oil in a skillet and cook the sausage, bell pepper, and onion 5 minutes.

3

Stir the Cajun seasoning into the cream cheese and spread it over the flatbreads.

4

Scatter mozzarella, then the sausage mixture, over the top.

5

Bake 10 to 12 minutes until the crust is crisp and the cheese is bubbly.

6

Top with green onions, slice, and serve.

Store

Store up to 2 days.

Reheat

Reheat in a 400°F oven to re-crisp the crust.
